THE LABORATORY
The DILAVE was founded in 1932 as the Laboratory for Animal Biology by Dr. Miguel C. Rubino and it is composed of a central laboratory in Montevideo with 11000 square meters premises, three regional laboratories located in Paysandú, Tacuarembó and Treinta y Tres, and two cattle breeding stations.

The Dr. Miguel C. Rubino Laboratory is the official veterinary laboratory of Uruguay, constituting the Veterinary Laboratories Division (DILAVE)  of the General Direction of Livestock Services (DGSG) of the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries  (MGAP).
    

MIGUEL C. RUBINO

Uruguayan research pioneer in veterinary science. 
The Uruguayan society perpetuates and honors his memory by aming the DILAVE after him, is a homage for dedicating great part of his life working for the welfare of humanity.
